Most trips to the other side of the world would be life changing in some way, especially when planned by your recently passed mother. However, visions, dreams, strange encounters, and ancient gifts are a bit more than Jane had in mind. She certainly wasn’t expecting to open a stone gateway to an otherworld or uncover secrets that would rock her knowledge of reality to its very core. This is the beginning of a journey between two realms, four kingdoms and a girl trying to find her place amongst it all.

Jane wasn’t sure how many more surprises she could take. Rhys, the boy she thought barely tolerated her, actually liked her. And she thought she liked him too. But now he was gone, taken by the enemy. Because of her. Her head was telling her she needed to be strong, to be tough. She was a Fae princess and her kingdom needed her, after all. Plus, she needed to get Rhys back. And she needed to find the true new ruler of the Fae, since she knew it wasn’t her. Because she was human too, and that part of her just wanted to go home. As she spends more time at the most sacred place in the realm, Jane learns more about who she is and what she can do. There is magic within her, and a brother that is part of a secret bigger than them both. She comes up with a plan that she hopes will piece all the bits of the puzzle that is her life together. But things aren’t always as they seem, with the Ancients having their own plan, a plan they’ve only started to share. And there are more surprises to come. Still, Jane knows what she needs to do and, for once, she knows she is strong enough to do it. Even though the cost just might be her life.

Sian thought coming back would be better. Normal. That’s what she wanted, right? A normal life with Rhys, the boy that followed her, fought with her, saved her and now someone she couldn’t live without. A life away from magic and battles and responsibility. A normal life in her realm, not the Otherworld, the world she left behind. Except her life was anything but normal – their lives were anything but normal. Sian was struggling to work out where she fitted in and who she actually was. For Rhys, the life he thought he was destined for, one he couldn’t escape from, was changing around him. But the magic and enemies they thought they’d left behind followed them. Enemies playing with the barriers between the two realms that had been there from the beginning of time. Together, Rhys and Sian nearly lose it all as they struggle to restore the balance that is slipping away while working out where they truly belonged.
